Macadamia oil is used in the FOOD industry for it's high fat and nutrition content and mild nutty flavor. It is also used in the cosmetics industry, since they are quickly absorbed through the skin.
The oil is known to be a protective oil with a respectable and reasonably quick absorption rate. Some believe Virgin Macadamia Nut Oil to act in a similar way as does the human sebum which naturally protects and lubricates the skin. The oils regenerative properties make it a quality ingredient for products targeting damaged skin. It is VERY similar to jojoba oil, and therefore makes a great replacement as jojoba oil is very costly.

Macadamia nut oil has a higher smoke point than olive oil. I use this oil exclusively. The taste is mild, it smells wonderful, the processing & ingredient is unquestionable (unlike olive oils) , and, kept in the refridgerator, it stays a liquid.

I am on a special diet and, after some testing, it was revealed that I can't have olive oil or coconut oil. SO, I went on a search for an alternative oil to use. Little did I realize that my research would reveal an oil that is actually BETTER than olive oil. Who knew? The omega 3 to 6 balance for this oil is perfect. It has a high smoke point making it good for multiple uses. That said, it is REALLY expensive.
Fortunately, this brand has a wonderful flavor and the coloring is consistent with what I've heard it should be: pale golden, not nearly-white like other mac nut oil brands.
On this site, the product is listed as being organic; however, the bottle does not list that. "Raw & Pure, Unbleached, GMO-Free, and Cold-Pressed" are the terms used on the bottle. It would be helpful if Taylor's disclosed the reason why the producer of this oil doesn't list it as Organic. It could very well be that the farm where this is produced doesn't want to pay for organic certification, but it follows all the rules of organic farming. The reason for knowing this important information is that atrazine is a concern for chemical sprays used on mac nut trees. Knowing the originating farm and its bone fides regarding their practices would go a LONG way in assuring customers looking for an organic product.
So, not 5-stars because of the lack of transparency regarding this product's organic nature. Of course, I'll gladly update my review. I will continue to purchase this product due to it being "Raw & Pure, Unbleached, GMO-Free, and Cold-Pressed" though ... and that it tastes good and is so healthy for you!
